2020 has been a historical year for race relations. The murder of George Floyd has resurfaced the deep structural inequalities faced by African Americans in the United States. From racism, violence, political disenfranchisement and poverty, the African American experience has been one fraught with inequity.
As the struggle for equal rights in the United States continues, New Politic examines the history of this endeavour, starting with the Civil Rights Movement in colour.
